The Ken Beckley family from Diré, Mali, and interns Matt, Andrew, and Carla

TheThe Songhai translation project continues to be advancing well with Evangelical Baptist Mission missionary Ken Beckley and national translators Mahamane Traöre and Souleymane Maïga in the town of Diré. This trip included two significant details. First, with the checking of the book of Acts and I Timothy, the team has completed over half the New Testament in addition to one book of the Old Testament, Genesis. Second, three interns in linguistic majors from a U.S. Bible college came along to study and observe the translation work and stay for additional time after it was over. Even the 115-120-degree weather and frequent dust clouds did not hinder the team from their work. Since the previous supply of Gospels of Mark, Luke, and John are exhausted, BI hopes to be able to publish another limited edition with the four Gospels and Acts soon.
