Prayer Requests for April 10, 2008

1. Joshua and Barb Hedges and their five little girls continue to wait on the Lord’s timing for their departure to Chad to begin their missionary career there. Pray for the Lord’s clear direction as they wait for clearance to go.

2. Pray that final details will come together for the East Michigan Banquet to be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Grand Blanc on April 17. Details are being finalized. Pray for the speaker and others who will play key roles next week as they make final preparations and for the event that evening. We want the Lord to be glorified.

3. Continue to pray for our team in Asia. There is quite an extensive team there. Pray for safety for all of them and for the Lord’s direction in the workshop being carried on there.

4. Pray for our nationals working in Haiti during a time of political unrest. Pray for their safety and that they will be able to continue to minister during this time of turmoil. Pray that hearts will be touched by the gospel.

5. Praise the Lord that Bob Thompson seems to have regained his strength and energy following his cardiac procedures in February.

6. Pray for Jill Zwyghuizen who is preparing for ministry with BI at Dallas Seminary. Her doctoral thesis is due April 15 and her oral qualifying exam is April 23.

Prayer Requests for March 19, 2008

1. Continue to pray for the Joshua Hedges family as they await final clearance for departure to Chad. Baptist Mid-Missions personnel feel that the Hedges family should not enter Chad at this time due to political instability. Pray that Joshua and Barb will not become discouraged as they wait for the Lord’s timing.

2. Pray for the family of our director, Dr. Hantz Bernard. His mother-in-law was taken home to glory last week. Dr. Bernard, wife Iguelle, and their oldest child, Evodie, left early this morning (3.19.08) to begin their trip to Haiti. Pray for God’s grace and comfort for them and the extended family during these days.

3. Bob Thompson has returned to work. He is still experiencing fatigue but is thankful to be back at the work to which the Lord has called him.

4. Translation consultants Ross and Cathy Hodsdon have received word of a house fire that devastated their home in Maine. Ross and Cathy are currently working in Asia and received this news by email. Pray that their hearts will be quieted so that they can continue their work, and that they will be able to see the hand of the Lord in all these events. A son and his wife, Dana and Beulah, also live in the home. They were awakened by fire alarms and were able to escape without injury. Both families have lost most of their earthly possessions.

5. Continue to pray for the East Michigan Banquet to be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Grand Blanc on April 17. Many details have been arranged, but there are quite a few that still need to be finalized.

6. Kim Hibbard, missionary on deputation, has joined the team working in Asia for onsite training. Pray that she will be a blessing to the team as they are a blessing to her.

7. Continue to pray for a stewardship director for BI. That position has been empty for more than a year with Dr. Bernard stepping in to fill the position. Pray that the Lord will bring the person of His choice to this strategic position.
