Dr. Paul Versluis, founder of Bibles International, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2011. The impact of his godly life was literally felt around the world, and he will be missed by many. It was 30 years ago that Dr. Versluis was asked by Dr. Allan Lewis, then president of Baptist Mid-Missions, to consider leading a new BMM Bible society. The Bible society and Dr. Versluis’ position as its founder were ratified in a vote on July 15, 1981. Thus Bibles International was born. From its humble beginning in the basement of the home of Paul and Genella Versluis, BI has grown into an agency that has works in 14 countries on five continents. How blessed we have been by the faithfulness of this remarkable couple. Our thoughts and prayers are with Genella and the rest of the family during this time of grieving. May they be comforted in the "Well done, good and faithful servant" that Paul most certainly heard as he entered his eternal home.
