wwwwBefore Dr. Henry Osborn became Chief Translation Consultant at BI (1985-1996), he served (1969- 1985) as chairman of the Fine Arts Division of Grand Rapids Baptist College and later served both as Associate Dean of Students and Interim Academic Dean of Students. He was instrumental in developing a college-credit study program known as ARRIBA! that allows students to study linguistics and cross-cultural studies while living and working for a year with missionaries in South America.
wwwwThis year Cornerstone University (formerly Grand Rapids Baptist College) established the Henry Osborn Award in Applied Linguistics & TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages). The award will go to students with high academic excellence in the fields of Applied Linguistics or TESOL and deep Christian commitment, demonstrated through sacrificial service on the mission field and through the local church.
wwwwDr. Osborn was presented a plaque by Cornerstone faculty member Dr. Michael Pasquale at a ceremony on September 18, 2007. Dr. Osborn’s Venezuelan friends would have been proud to attend.
