MEET DR. HANTZ BERNARD Appointed by Baptist Mid-Missions for service with Bibles International
Led to Jesus Christ through Scripture memorization at 15 by Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries the Misses Evelyne and Rachel Metzler, themselves transplanted from Chad to Haiti by war, Dr. Bernard showed leadership gifts early in his Christian growth. Given the privilege of study at Bob Jones University, he earned not only his room, board, and personal expenses, but a BA in Pastoral Studies and Publishing, and two graduate degrees, in theology, biblical languages, and linguistics. Dr. Bernard was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Bob Jones University May 7 during the 2005 convocation, his life and ministry making him a worthy recipient.
Dr. Hantz Bernard and his co-workers have labored to draft a trustworthy Creole New Testament. This New Testament was printed and the Old Testament translation is underway. Dr. Bernard served as a pastor, seminary instructor, and world-traveling adjunct consultant for BI before being named as the Bibles International director.
The Bernards have three children, two daughters and a son.
